October is National Women’s Small Business Month, and we are shining a spotlight on some of our local small business clients.

Today, we’re talking to Sarah Mason, owner of Cape Cod Nail Co. in Mashpee.

Sarah Mason at Cape Cod Nail Co.After years working at salons and doing at-home parties for friends and family, Sarah Mason decided to strike out on her own with Cape Cod Nail Co. in 2016.

Building on the popularity of her at-home events, Cape Cod Nail Co. started as a mobile nail station. As Sarah grew her team, she realized she wanted a better, healthier product to work with. In 2017, Sarah launched her own line of Cape Cod inspired nail polish.

Sarah’s nail polish is cruelty free, vegan friendly, made in the USA, and “9 free” – meaning it does not contain toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), camphor, xylene, ethyl tosylamide, parabens, or acetone. Plus, the polish has fun names, such as Did The Rotary Confuschia?, Kelp Wanted, and Washashore.

In 2018, Sarah went through the EforAll South Coast Summer Accelerator program, which helped her get out of her comfort zone, develop public speaking and presenting skills, and connect her with an amazing community of likeminded entrepreneurs.

In late 2020, Sarah officially opened a full-service nail sale in Mashpee Commons. Today, Cape Cod Nail Co. offers manicures, pedicures, and more! Services can be booked online, and the nail polish is available in the salon or online, too.
