Lisa J. Oliver has been a distinguished leader in the banking industry across New England and the Midwest for over three decades. In 2017, Lisa joined The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod (The Coop), as President and CEO, becoming the first female CEO in its 103-year history. In 2020, she became the Bank’s first Chair of the Board of Directors.

At The Coop, Lisa’s notable accomplishments include relationship focused, digital strategies to drive a 56% increase in assets to $1.5 billion in 2023. Leveraging her commercial banking experience, The Coop has expanded into sponsored finance, commercial construction, and specialty real estate lending across New England. Lisa has built an Enterprise Risk Management framework to guide aggregate risk evaluation and to elevate the board’s strategic growth conversations. She embraces diversity as a strength, building a 75% diverse senior team and achieving 40% gender diversity on the bank’s board, earning recognition from Bank Director Magazine as a top bank nationally for Board diversity.

To expand The Coop’s mission as a mutual bank, Lisa established The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod Charitable Foundation Trust in 2018, which has distributed 3% of annual earnings since inception to meet critical needs of people across Cape Cod. In 2021, she oversaw the completion of a $12 million renovation of the Bank’s headquarters, creating an open workspace to support a culture of employee collaboration, communication and engagement.

Before joining The Coop, Lisa’s career included 25 years of strategic leadership roles at $185 billion KeyBank, N.A., where she led progressively larger geographic teams across commercial, retail, and private banking disciplines. In her last role, she served as the EVP for KeyBank’s Business Banking Segment, realigning the national direct sales delivery model with an integrated back-office infrastructure to improve client experience and efficiency.

Throughout her career, Lisa’s industry and philanthropic focus has been purposeful and enduring. She serves on the executive committee of the Massachusetts Banker’s Association, has been a frequent speaker at Bank Director conferences and she regularly presents to business and civic organizations. She was a panelist for Bank on Women’s 2021 discussion on gender diversity in the workplace and in 2023 she was recognized by American Banker as one of the 25 Women to Watch in Banking. Lisa is the incoming Chair of the Board of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, and she is the Clerk of the Cape Cod Foundation Board where she is a founding co-Chair of the Fund for Women and Girls. She previously served on the board of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum among many other organizations.

Lisa is a graduate of Colgate University, where she studied International Relations and French and she completed the Executive Leadership Program at Case Western Reserve University. Lisa lives on Cape Cod with her husband, Richard, and two black labs. They have two grown sons.
