The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod will host
“The POSITIVELY DIFFERENT Soccer Clinic” on Sunday headlined by stars from
The New England Revolution, Boston Breakers & U.S. Women’s National Team
The stars will be shining on the Cape this weekend with the arrival of some of the country’s top soccer professionals. The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod will host “The POSITIVELY DIFFERENT Soccer Clinic” for 120 lucky Cape kids with pros from The New England Revolution, Boston Breakers and U.S. Women’s National Team. The youth participants, who hail from across Cape Cod, won the opportunity to participate through a raffle at The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod’s branches. The clinic is one of several community activities planned to mark the bank’s 90th Anniversary.
Headlining the clinic will be New England Revolution players Tim Murray, Pat Phelan and Steven McCarthy; Boston Breakers Captain Leslie Osborne; coaches from The Revolution Academy (the player development program of the New England Revolution); and former U.S. National Team and Breakers star Kristine Lilly, who is a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, an Olympic Silver Medalist, and a two-time World Cup Champion. Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished female soccer players in the world, Lilly is the second all-time leading scorer in the U.S. with 130 goals, second only to Mia Hamm. She retired on January 5, 2011 as the world’s all-time appearance leader with 352 “caps” (games played).
Following the clinic, the professionals will participate in a Q&A, sign autographs and pose for photos.
