Long-time Falmouth resident and veteran banking executive Ronald Garcia has joined The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. Garcia will serve as the bank’s Business Development Officer in their new Falmouth office located at 649 Main Street, which is slated to open in early February. This will be the first Falmouth branch for the ninety-year-old community bank.
Garcia has thirty-seven years of banking experience in the Falmouth market, including sixteen years at The Falmouth Cooperative Bank/Rockland Trust and more than twenty years at The Falmouth National Bank. In his new position with The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, Garcia will be responsible for introducing the bank’s wide range of business banking solutions and demonstrating its positively different banking approach to the local community.
The Falmouth office will be the seventh branch for The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. Initially, the branch will offer a 24-hour full service ATM, residential and commercial lending services, and a wide range of business services. The current business plan does not call for bank tellers at this location.
“Ron is a tremendous addition to the team and brings years of experience helping Falmouth residents with their banking needs,” said Joel Crowell, President of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. “We think Ron’s a perfect fit. His veteran leadership and passion for the community are well-known in Falmouth.”
Added Garcia: “I am excited about joining The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. It is a solid financial institution that has been in business for more than ninety years. Customers are going to appreciate the services and support that they receive from a local bank. This institution is truly committed to making a positive difference in the Falmouth community.”
Garcia is a former Member and Vice-Chairman of the Town of Falmouth Finance Committee, a Board Member and Past President of the Scholarship Association of Falmouth, a former Trustee of Falmouth Hospital and Falmouth Academy, and a Past Board Member of the Falmouth Service Center. He and his wife, Donna, are both native Cape Codders who have been back in Falmouth for thirty-nine years. They have two grown children, Craig and Kristen.
