HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS, June 27, 2011 – Joel G. Crowell, President of Cape Cod Cooperative Bank, announced that Gary M. Sheehan has been elected to the Bank’s Board of Directors. Gary Sheehan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cape Medical Supply, Inc. was elected to the Board at the Bank’s recent annual meeting. “Gary is a well recognized and active leader in the community. His experience, enthusiasm and professional approach have been an outstanding addition to our organization,” said Mr. Crowell. “Gary has been a corporator of the Bank’s mutual holding company for the past two years and we are pleased to have him now as a member of our Board.”
In his role at Cape Medical Supply, Mr. Sheehan oversees all operations and is dedicated to ensuring the highest levels of customer service possible. He is frequently quoted in industry publications and by local media. He has addressed federal legislators on the state of affairs in the home medical equipment and respiratory care industry, and has spoken at national conventions. He writes a regular column in “To Your Good Health: A Healthcare Newsletter,” sharing his views on the healthcare industry and bringing to light relevant and timely information pertaining to legislative issues, personal health matters, and new technologies available to patients in their homes.
Mr. Sheehan is a graduate of Boston College and earned his MBA from Suffolk University in 2008.
An active member of the community, Gary serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Cape and Islands United Way, is a co-founder and board member of the Cape Cod Young Professionals, he is Vice Chairman of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, supports the Visiting Nurses Association of Cape Cod and is a member of the Steering Committee for Cape Cod Focus. Gary resides in West Barnstable with his wife Kristina and son Sean.
Steven A. Peters, IV has recently been named Marketing Manager by the Bank. Steven was most recently the Director of Marketing and Communications for Mount Ida College in Newton for the past four years and is the president and creator of a small marketing agency that primarily works with non-profits and small businesses on Cape Cod. Before that he enjoyed worked in the public affairs office of the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole for three years. “Steven is a welcome addition to our marketing department. Steven is new to the banking industry and brings a fresh and unique view along with his professional background working locally with small businesses and non-profit groups here on the Cape,” said Joel Crowell.
Steven is a graduate of Falmouth High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a minor in Marketing from Bridgewater State College. Steven’s family has been on Cape Cod for generations; he is a member of the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe and is very involved in the Mashpee community. He is an active member of the Mashpee Boosters Club and runs several local races each year on the Cape and Islands raising money for a variety of non-profits. He is looking forward to his fifth running of the Falmouth Road Race this summer.
Steven lives in Mashpee with his wife Jennifer. They both love living on Cape Cod and Steven cites the eclectic mix of history, special places and people that make Cape Cod a unique and wonderful place to live and work.
